Safety valves

Series SV1 and SV2 safety valves are considered “safety accessories” as defined in Article 2, paragraph 4 of Directive 2014/68/EU and are the subject of Article 4, paragraph 1, letter d, of the same Directive. Their function is to protect equipment such as evaporators, condensers, liquid accumulators, liquid receivers, oil separators, volumetric compressors, heat exchangers and simple pressure vessels (ref. Directive 2009/105/EC) from any overpressure with respect to the operating conditions for which they were designed. SV1 and SV2 valves are unbalanced conventional direct-load safety valves. The opening of the valve occurs when the calibration conditions are exceeded, or when the thrust exerted on the obturator by the fluid under pressure exceeds the value of the antagonistic force of the spring acting on the obturator itself. The safety valves can be used with fluids such as air, nitrogen and refrigerants in the physical state of gas or steam, belonging to Group 1 or 2 as defined by Directive 2014/68/EU, article 13. In particular, the compatible fluids are listed in Annex E of the standard EN 378-1, among which the most used are: R22, R134a, R404A, R407C, R410A, R507, R32, R1234yf, R290, R600, R600a, R1150, R1270.
