Eurovent has released its new Recommendation 6/18 on quality criteria for Air Handling Units (AHUs). The document, prepared by the Eurovent Product Group ‘Air Handling Units’, provides information on various issues pertaining to requirements for AHUs.
The purpose of the Recommendation 6/18 is to provide a comprehensive overview of features that determine highly efficient operation and correct service of AHUs, which are a measure of the AHU quality. It addresses a wide range of aspects, such as properties of the casing and individual components, energy efficiency and controls requirements, maintainability, and the content of technical documentation. The guidelines in this document are intended to help investors, designers and end-users to assess whether the unit meets all practical expectations and requirements.
Martin Lenz, Chairman of the Eurovent Product Group ‘Air Handling Units’, remarked: “We, as a Product Group, are convinced that these recommendations can increase the overall quality level for air handling units worldwide. The most important aspects when designing air handling units are described in detail, but at the same time they are easy to apply, thanks to clear and short concluding recommendations. We are proud that we can provide another extremely helpful document to the market.”
This document was published by Eurovent and was prepared in a joint effort by participants of the Product Group ‘Air Handling Units’ (PG-AHU), which represents a vast majority of manufacturers of these products active on the EMEA market. It can be downloaded free of charge HERE
