In Magenta, not far from Milan, the first European school for CO2 refrigeration was born. The Training Center Frigoristi is the first cold laboratory for educational purpose in Italy and was established thanks to the joint effort of the ASLAM professional institute and the Assofrigoristi and Assocold associations, as well as a concrete support of plants and technologies by leading industrial companies of the sector, EPTA in the first place.
Inaugurated in February 2019, the Training Center will be a forge for young installers and maintenance technicians and a centre for professional training. Professional, post-diploma and continuing education courses are also on offer for those already working in the sector. Not only is this the only training centre for refrigeration professionals to date, but its laboratory is equipped with very innovative technological systems: a transcritical CO2 booster system that mimics a small supermarket, with low-temperature counters for frozen food, benches at medium temperature for cold cuts and dairy products. All this will enable students to experience all types of plant layouts that they may then face in the field.
