The European Partnership for Energy and the Environment (EPEE) elected a new leadership team at its annual general meeting on May 12, with Andrea Vallejo Galarza of Johnson Controls succeeding Jürgen Fischer of Danfoss as Chair.

Vallejo said: “I would like to thank our members for entrusting me to take on this role. I am confident that thanks to their continued work and commitment to the association, EPEE will remain at the forefront of issues concerning the refrigeration, air conditioning, and heat pump sector. The EU needs to urgently move away from fossil fuels in heating & cooling, and our technologies will play the biggest role in that task. We will need to ensure that both policymakers and industry can agree on the best approach to reach the 2030 EU climate and energy goals. I look forward to taking on this challenge with our members.

Folker Franz, Director General of EPEE, said: “I would like to thank Jürgen Fischer for his excellent work as Chairman over the past 2 years. During his stewardship, EPEE cemented itself as a thought-leader for our sector in Brussels.”

Jürgen Fischer thanked all Members for their continued support: “EPEE is now the go-to organization of the refrigeration, air conditioning, and heat pump sector for policymakers in Brussels. We have laid important groundwork for the policy challenges that lie ahead, and I am confident that Andrea is the right person to guide EPEE’s engaged members toward success.

Also elected during the annual general meeting were Rainer Grosse-Kracht of Bitzer, who was elected Vice-Chair, and Luc Dehon of Climalife, who was elected Treasurer.
