Daikin Commercial Refrigeration Europe Commits to Natural Refrigerants in All New Products and Announces New Sustainable Cold Chain Solutions for Chillventa 2022

Daikin Europe NV, a subsidiary of Daikin Industries Limited, a global leader, present in more than 171 countries, shaping the future of heating, cooling, ventilation and refrigeration systems, reveals two new natural refrigerant products, the Monoblock of the future and CO2 ZEAS range, part of its vision as represented by its ‘future sustainable city’ stand (Hall 7, booth 240) at Chillventa, Nuremberg, Germany 11 – 13 October, 2022.

For the first time ever, Daikin Europe NV will dedicate a booth to Refrigeration – in Hall 7 at Chillventa in 2022, showcasing its extensive range of integrated solutions aiming at addressing the food processing, warehousing, food retail, horeca and pharma sectors. Prominent amongst these solutions is the focus on sustainability with the launch of two new products based on natural refrigerants while meeting stringent standards for energy efficiency, low-noise and minimum total cost of ownership:

  • The Daikin Monoblock of the future – an ideal commercial refrigeration solution for limited spaces based on R290 (propane) that meets the industry’s demands for energy efficient, natural refrigeration solutions.
  • The Daikin CO2 ZEAS units – a new range of compact and high efficiency refrigeration condensing units based on the natural refrigerant CO2, combining performance with a small footprint, low energy running cost and low noise.

Olivier Lagrabette, Senior Manager, Refrigeration, said “We specifically chose Chillventa this year, with its focus on topics including sustainability, energy efficiency and indoor air quality, to announce our commitment to contribute to society by providing environmentally friendly and energy efficient systems, for the whole cold chain. Similarly, our stand and our products encapsulate our vision for the ‘future sustainable city’ and with this our new Monoblock of the future and our CO2 ZEAS ranges are designed to play their role in this vision thanks to high energy efficiency, natural refrigerants, low noise and a compact design to fit where space is limited. The new CO2 ZEAS, along to the already marketed CO2 Conveni-Packs and TEWIS CO2 Racks will be ideally complemented by newly launched AHT CO2 remote display cases, to offer Food Retailers a best-in-class integrated solution that drastically reduce energy costs while providing high performance”.

Monoblock of the future:

With an extremely low GWP, the R290 (propane) natural refrigerant has no ozone depletion potential, while Daikin’s innovative Inverter Technology, means the Monoblock of the future is highly energy efficient, operates with low-noise and represents a low total cost of ownership thanks also to the fact it is easily retrofittable, easy to install and easy access for maintenance. Being compact, the units can also be mounted in ceilings and come with an innovative remote monitoring system with a dedicated App and Cloud Services for ease of use.

CO2 ZEAS:

The full packaged condensing units, available in 8 to 12 HP and a 15HP models, provide energy efficient natural refrigerant cooling to display cabinets and evaporators from -40c to +5c. High energy efficiency is thanks to the Daikin two stage technology which ensures a lower compression ratio at each step, lower energy consumption, lower discharge temperature, lower stress on the compressor and longer lifetime.

Our commitment for using natural refrigerants coupled with Daikin renowned energy efficiency and reliability is our answer to growing market and societal needs and is crucial in transitioning to a zero-emissions future – anticipated in Daikin’s Environmental Vision 2050 for reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions to net-zero by 2050 from a base year of 2019 throughout the entire lifecycle of its productsconcluded Olivier Lagrabette.
